BikeParka FAQ - Find the Right Bicycle Cover for Your Bike

This guide answers the most common questions about BikeParka covers—fit, sizing, features, and everyday use—so you can choose the right cover with confidence.

Quick Answers

If in doubt, measure your bike length, height, and handlebar width and compare with each model.

Fit & Sizing

How do I measure my bike?

Measure three key points:

Match these measurements to each model’s fit. If your bike sits close to the limit—or has a basket, child seat, or tall cockpit—choosing the larger cover will make daily use easier and improve overall fit.

Urban vs Stash – what’s the difference?

Urban and Stash share the same size and fit (220 × 140 cm, handlebars up to 65 cm).

Choose Urban if you want lock-through access to secure your bike and cover together.
Choose Stash if you prefer a simpler, lightweight option for everyday use.

Both use the same durable construction and Elasticated Toggle System for a secure fit.

Which cover fits a mountain bike or e-MTB?

The XL / MTB cover is designed for bikes with wider handlebars and larger frames.

It fits handlebars up to 100 cm and gives extra space around the cockpit so the cover sits properly and doesn’t pull tight.

Which cover fits a longtail with child seats?

Choose Longtail WS. It is shaped specifically for longtail bikes with seats and includes dual lock-through access.

If you remove the seats, the standard Longtail model is a better fit.

Will a standard cover fit a cargo bike?

Standard covers are not designed for front-loader cargo bikes.

The Cargo model is built specifically for this shape, with extra length and width and adjustable toggles to refine the fit.

Should I size up if I have a basket or high saddle?

Yes. If your bike is close to the size limits—or includes accessories like baskets or child seats—sizing up will make the cover easier to use and more stable in bad weather.

Has BikeParka won any awards?

Models & Features

What is the Elasticated Toggle System (ETS)?

ETS is an elasticated hem with a toggle that allows you to cinch the cover around your bike.

It helps reduce flapping in the wind and keeps the cover securely in place.

Are BikeParka covers waterproof?

BikeParka covers use a waterproof fabric with seam-sealed construction and a protective coating.

This helps keep your bike dry in rain and protects it from everyday weather exposure.

Do BikeParka covers include lock-through access?

Yes. Urban, Cargo, Longtail and Longtail WS models include lock-through access so you can secure both your bike and cover together.

Do they come with a storage bag?

All BikeParka covers include a Stuff Sac so you can pack them down when not in use.

They are designed to be lightweight and easy to carry.

Use, Care & Storage

Are BikeParka covers breathable?

Yes. The material is breathable, which helps reduce condensation and moisture build-up under the cover.

Can I use the cover in strong winds?

Yes. For best results:

This helps keep the cover stable and reduces movement in wind.

How do I clean my BikeParka?

Wipe clean with a soft cloth or sponge and mild soap. Allow it to air dry fully before storing.

Avoid machine washing or high heat, as this can damage the waterproof coating.

Can I use BikeParka on a bike rack, campervan or vehicle?

BikeParka covers are designed first for everyday outdoor bike protection, but some customers also use them on bike racks, campervans and vehicles.

When using any bike cover on a moving vehicle, the main issue is wind pressure. At higher speeds, wind can create extra force on the fabric, seams and fixing points, so the cover should be fitted tightly and supported with additional bungees or elastic straps to reduce flapping.

As with most bike covers, vehicle use depends on your rack setup, speed, journey length and weather conditions. For best results, secure the cover carefully, avoid loose fabric, and check it during the journey.

Vehicle use is at the customer’s own risk. Damage caused by use on moving vehicles, bike racks, trailers or campervans is not covered under warranty or replacement, as wind pressure and travel conditions are outside normal storage use.
