Quick Answers

Fit & Sizing

How do I measure my bike correctly (length, height, bar width)?

Measure three things:

Urban vs Stash: which should I choose for a commuter bike?

Both Urban and Stash cover standard city/commuter bikes with the same fit (220 × 140 cm; bars to 65 cm). Choose Urban if you want a lock‑through panel to secure cover and bike together while parked. Choose Stash if you prefer the simplest day‑to‑day option without that feature. Both share the same core construction and the Elasticated Toggle System (ETS) for a tidy, wind‑secure hem.

Which BikeParka fits MTB or e‑MTB with wide bars?

Pick XL / MTB. It’s designed for wider cockpits and taller fronts, with a published fit of 225 × 140 cm and handlebars up to 100 cm. The extra width prevents the cover pulling tight over bar ends and helps the hem sit lower for stability. It uses the same construction approach and ETS hem found across the range.

Which cover fits a longtail with child seats?

Choose Longtail WS. It is shaped for longtails with seats and lists a fit envelope up to 210 × 130 cm and bars to 80 cm. It includes two lock‑through slots so you can secure cover and bike together. If you remove the seats later, the standard Longtail model is the alternative.

Will a standard cover fit a front‑loader cargo bike?

Most standard covers aren’t shaped for box‑style front‑loaders. The Cargo model is cut for cargo geometry, with a stated fit up to 276 × 130 cm and bars to 120 cm, plus side toggles to fine‑tune the shape. It also includes double lock‑throughaccess for secure parking.
See Cargo.

What if I have a front basket or tall saddle—should I size up?

If a basket, tall saddle or high cockpit pushes your height/width near the model limits, sizing up is the safer choice (e.g., Urban → XL / MTB, Longtail → Longtail WS). A little extra room speeds daily use and helps the hem sit lower for stability.

Models & Features

What is the Elasticated Toggle System (ETS) and how do I use it?

ETS is the elasticated hem plus a toggle that lets you cinch the cover around wheels and frame. Fit the cover over the bike, then use the toggle to draw the hem snug. This reduces flapping and helps the cover stay seated in wind. It’s standard across the range for fast, repeatable setup.

Are seams taped on BikeParka covers?

BikeParka specifies seam‑sealed/taped construction on core models alongside a protective coating on the fabric. Taping reinforces stitch lines—common entry points for water on generic covers—so the build remains dependable in poor weather.

Do covers include a Stuff Sac and how small do they pack?

Yes. All BikeParka covers include a Stuff Sac for compact storage when not in use. Packing size is designed to be small and easy to carry; the Urban model lists a weight of ~400 g. If you need exact pack dimensions for a specific model, they are Not stated.

Do BikeParka covers include lock‑through access?

Yes—Urban, Cargo, Longtail and Longtail WS include lock‑through access so you can thread your lock through the cover and your frame. This helps keep both the cover and the bike secure while parked.

Do BikeParka covers have UV treatment?

BikeParka states a UV coating protectant on the cover for longevity

Use, Care & Storage

Are BikeParka covers breathable?

Yes. The range is described as breathable, which helps reduce condensation under the cover—useful for year‑round UK/EU conditions. Breathability works alongside seam‑sealing and the ETS hem to balance protection and daily usability.

Can I use the cover during strong winds—how do I secure it?

Yes—fit and fastening are key. After placing the cover, use ETS to cinch the hem snugly. On models with lock‑through, thread your lock through the cover and bike frame before tightening the hem. These steps reduce flapping and help the cover stay put in gusts.

How do I clean and dry my cover?

Treat it like quality outdoor gear. Wipe with a soft sponge and mild soap, then air‑dry fully before stowing in the Stuff Sac. Avoid high heat. Detailed guidance and general care tips are on Fitting & care.
Read /pages/fitting-care.

Is the cover suitable for use on a car rack?

Use cases are about storage unless a product page explicitly states otherwise. If you need to shield a bike on a vehicle rack, check the relevant product page first or ask us for advice.

What if I rip my BikeParka?
We hope this won’t happen – it’s really tough! The fabric is Ripstop so it won’t shred, but accidents can happen and if you do have a snafu, your BikeParka can easily be fixed with a tent repair kit. They’re cheap, easy to use and available from all good camping stores. Or place a piece of duct tape on each side of the cover, over the tear.

Is BikeParka available in stores?
Yes! BikeParkas are sold in-store throughout Europe and selected stores in the USA and Japan.
